Last week Suzanne and I went into a 5th grade classroom of the New Leaf Coop Learning Center in California. and did a project about inner peace with the class. The Teacher Mathew video taped the students that wanted him to and here are two youtube sites to look at. these kids are wonderful.

Gallery Hours: Tuesday – Saturday: 12 – 5PM
Sunday: 2 – 4PM
War can be forced upon us, yet peace must begin within. In fact, world peace will only occur once we find inner peace. Artists, professional and amateur, young and old, responded to an invitation to express their inner experience of peace, each artist created a piece of art that expresses their personal experience of peace.
Artists’ Statement:
Vaclav Havel said, “If we are to change our world view, images have to change.” We agree, our goal, as artists, is to find our inner place of peace, then create and share the images it inspires. Our exhibit includes fine arts, photography, collage, crafts, poetry, and sculpture. PeaceArts goal is to awaken the awareness of our inner potential for peace, and to inspire the artist within each of our hearts. When there is peace within the heart of the individual, there will be peace in the family. When there is peace in the family the community will be peaceful, and peaceful communities are the key to national and global peace.

This art may be pieces that already exist or, perhaps, new ways of expressing ideas of peace.
Our goal is to create an aura of peace around the world through artistic expression. With your help, we hope to encourage and inspire more people to see the potential that lies within their reach.
